Teaching Activity
Choose a railway bridge or tunnel that demonstrates the great skill of Canadian engineers and workers. You may choose from the many other bridges and tunnels not mentioned here.
- 1. Write a short text explaining why this bridge or tunnel needed to be built. Be sure to identify the cities or regions that were to be connected.
- 2. Using photographs as a starting point, draw a plan of the bridge or tunnel you chose. You can also draw a map to indicate its location.
- 3. Using the information you have gathered, prepare a short oral presentation.
